DRUMHELLER, Alta. – A man has been given a conditional 18-month sentence after pleading guilty to breaking into the Prairie Bible Institute in central Alberta last summer.

Renie Gall, who is 34, originally faced six charges of sexual assault, but they were withdrawn.

He has also been fined $200.

Police reported in August 2014 that an intruder had broken into the school’s dormitories and sexually assaulted several students in their rooms.

The school said at the time that it had made security improvements after someone got in through a ground floor window during orientation week.

The school said the person crept into unlocked rooms belonging to both men and women and awoke students by touching their legs.

He then asked for sexual favours.
