CARROT RIVER, Sask. – Police believe alcohol is a factor in a fatal rollover in northern Saskatchewan. One person was killed and six people were injured when a van carrying seven people struck a bridge and entered the water on the Red Earth First Nation Sunday morning.

Nipawin Fire and Rescue and paramedics had to extract three people from the van.

A 19-year-old man was declared dead. His name has not been released.

A woman was taken to a Saskatoon hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Four others were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Mounties continue to investigate.
