A small earthquake just east of Mission and north of Abbotsford was detected by the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network this evening.
It happened at approximately 7:07 p.m., five kilometres east of Mission and seven kilometres north of Abbotsford.
It’s been registered as a magnitude 2.4 earthquake, 9.6 kilometres below the surface.
Many people on social media reported hearing a large boom in the aftermath of the quake.

There is no report of any damage stemming from the earthquake.
