KELOWNA – You may have spent time at Stuart Park in downtown Kelowna celebrating Canada Day or ice skating or even taking part in an outdoor exercise class. Now the City of Kelowna would like to see the park recognized as one of Canada’s great places and wants your help to make that happen.
The park is nominated in the public space category of the Canadian Institute of Planners’ Great Places in Canada competition. The diverse nominees include natural areas, a historic bridge and a recreation facility.
Winners in each category will be chosen by a panel of experts and “people’s choice” awards, based on online votes, will also be handed out.
Voting wraps up September 24 and the winners will be announced in November. You can view the nominees and vote here.
