It’s a major shakeup in Calgary’s retail scene; Sears is closing its store at Chinook Centre.
It’s one of three stores Sears is closing. The other two are in Vancouver and Ottawa.

The stores will shut down by the end of October.
Sears hasn’t confirmed how many people will be laid off.
Sears locations at Southcentre, North Hill and Marlborough Mall will remain open.
Sears is preparing to compete with Target, which recently announced permanent price cuts of thirty per cent.
