The Inglewood pool has been closed indefinitely after a massive flood.
A pipe burst in the recreational facility around 5 p.m. on Thursday, flooding the mechanical room. Over a meter of water spilled out, just a foot away from electrical panels.
Firefighters, the aquatic dive team and hazmat crews were all called in to help drain the pool, which took a few hours to complete.
The facility is 50 years old and some users are concerned it won’t be around for much longer.
The area alderman says he’s been working with the facility to revitalize it, and this shutdown is a major setback.
