WINNIPEG – A 52-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being assaulted at a downtown Winnipeg park.
Police responded to Central Park on Carlton St. and Qu’Appelle Ave Saturday afternoon.
The victim was initially transported to hospital with head injuries, however, police tell Global News they are non-life threatening.

He has since been upgraded to stable condition.
Officers were able to quickly arrest 2 suspects who are currently being held in custody, while they continue to look for a third.
While no charges have been laid, officers expect there could be robbery and/or aggravated assault charges laid.
A section of the park remained cordoned off with police tape well in to the evening.
