Boundaries: The boundaries here have shifted for 2015, adding territory to the south and losing some in the east. Neighbourhoods here include Maryvale, Ellesmere, Bendale, Eglinton East, Ionview and Wexford.
Last Election: Conservative James defeated Liberal incumbent Cannis by 1,470 votes, a margin of less than 4 per cent.
History: Liberal John Cannis was first elected here in 1993, taking the seat from the PC Party, and turning it into a Liberal stronghold, until his defeat in 2011.
Demographics: The average income (as of the 2011 National Household Survey) is $30,590, fifth lowest in the province. Just 24.3 per cent of residents identified as South Asian, the lowest of Scarborough’s six ridings.
