A group of Mount Pleasant residents in Vancouver held a protest against a controversial new development this afternoon.
A complex of low rise buildings on the corner of Kingsway and Broadway was destroyed by a fire in 2009. Now, a 19-storey tower has been proposed for the empty lot. If built, it will dwarf surrounding buildings.

A public hearing on the development will be held Monday evening.
