RCMP said in a statement that the man fled the home and was seen by a witness going into a shed where a firearm is believed to have been stored.

He then headed into the nearby woods. Police verified that there was no firearm in the shed and suspected that Squires may have it.

“There was no clear indication of which direction he may have been heading and the search was called off when he wasn’t located in that immediate area,” RCMP said in a statement Tuesday.

Police say they want to talk to Squires about the incident Monday, but that their main focus is ensuring he is okay.

Squires is described as slender, approximately 5’9″ tall and weighing about 130 pounds.  He has brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing white shorts and either a red shirt or jacket.
