Summary: This Laval riding has the same name, but the boundaries have changed significantly. With NDP MP Alain Giguère running in Thérèse-De Blainville, voters in Marc-Aurèle-Fortin will elect a rookie MP.
Boundaries: Communities on the western side of Rivière des Mille-Îles have been moved out of this redefined riding. It now includes only Laval neighbourhoods, including Auteuil and Sainte-Rose, the eastern part of the neighbourhood of Fabreville, and the western part of Vimont.
Last Election: The NDP’s Giguère won this riding by 13,637 votes over the Bloc Québécois candidate. If the current boundaries were in effect in 2011, the NDP would have won with 49.0 per cent of the vote, followed by the Bloc Québécois with 24.3 per cent.
