WATCH: YouTube couple announce miscarriage days after viral pregnancy announcement video

It’s the grief that no parent ever wants to experience – losing a child before they get to breathe their first breath.

YouTube vloggers Sam and Nia were making headlines around the world only a few days ago when their quirky pregnancy announcement video went viral, amassing over 11.5 million views in less than a week.

Sam had snuck into the bathroom to retrieve Nia’s urine sample from the toilet to test it before she had a chance to test it herself.

But their joy soon turned to sorrow days later when Nia experienced a miscarriage. Global News has been unable to independently verify the couple’s claim of miscarriage.

“I have felt my womb empty out,” said a tearful Nia in a heartbreaking video. “I never, ever, ever knew that women felt that way.”

In their pregnancy announcement vlog, Sam expressed his relief that they were able to continue to grow their family beyond their two children and that he was overjoyed by pregnancy number three.

WATCH: A viral video is raising questions about how much sharing of personal information is too much online. Experts say sharing on social media can be a form of therapy or sign of narcissism. Peter Kim reports.

There has, however, been some online chatter alleging the couple’s miscarriage was fake – something Sam told The Washington Post they would not respond to.

“I don’t understand how people cope with this without faith, without a community praying for you,” she said. “I feel protected from the hate we’re getting. Faith has been a tremendous factor in our grieving.”

They are thankful that their faith is pulling them through this difficult time and that they are able to share their grief with others who have experienced a miscarriage.

“Maybe there is someone out there that’s going through this with us. The Bible says to weep with those who weep and to mourn with those who mourn, and I’m mourning with those of you who are feeling this,” said Nia.

The couple – which continues to vlog daily – is hoping that their experience will help shed the light on the pain of miscarriage.
