Boundaries: This riding is geographically much smaller than it was in 2011. It used to include all of the borough of Chicoutimi, which is now split with the neighbouring Jonquiere riding. All areas of this riding that were north of the Saguenay River have now also moved into the Jonquiere riding.

Last Election: NDP Morin won with 38.2 per cent of the vote, defeating the BQ incumbent, Robert Bouchard, who earned 28.9 per cent. The Conservative, Carol Néron, wasn’t far behind with 25.1 per cent.
History: Voters here have shifted between four parties in the last 20 years, electing PC MP André Harvey in 1997, then re-electing him as a Liberal in 2000. The Bloc Québécois won the seat in 2004, 2006 and 2008 with Robert Bouchard.
