EDMONTON — A 37-year-old man is dead after he was thrown from his bike during a motocross event east of Edmonton Saturday.
RCMP and EMS were called to the event, located at a property near Township Road 530 and Range Road 211 in Ardrossan, around 2 p.m.
Police say the man was competing in a motocross event when he lost control on the track and was thrown from his bike. The man, from Fort Saskatchewan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was wearing a helmet at the time, according to RCMP.
No one else was injured in the incident. The man’s name is not being released.
