WATCH ABOVE: The SQ are investigating after a man lying in the road in St-Remi was hit and killed by a passing car early Saturday morning.
MONTREAL – One man is dead after he was run over by a car while he was lying on the side of a road in Saint-Remi early Saturday morning.
The accident happened at around 4:20 a.m when a man driving his car on Rang Saint-Paul in St-Remi, 30 km south of Montreal, ran over the man.

According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) Spokesperson Melanie Dumaresq, the victim was lying in the road near the painted white line on the side.
The 52-year-old man from Ste-Chlothide was transported to hospital with serious injuries and was later declared dead.
The driver of the car did not suffer any injuries.
Saint-Paul Road was closed to traffic until 9:30 this morning as collision experts analysed the scene of the accident.
The driver is not believed to be at fault.
According to the SQ, the victim was most likely intoxicated.
The coroner has been called in to investigate.
