Daredevil Doug Danger successfully jumped over 22 cars on Evel Knievel’s Harley Davidson on Thursday, setting a new world record that Knievel failed in 1972.

But Danger, 53, landed it, not without giving credit to his hero.

“I did it for Evel Knievel, he didn’t quite get to the other side,” Danger said after his successful jump, “Evel, we made it to the other side on your bike man! Thank you! I love you, Evel. You created a sport we all love.”
