WATCH ABOVE: An early morning smash and dash has left a big hole in North Hill Centre, and as Stefan Keyes reports, a jewelry store is now missing some inventory.
CALGARY – Police are searching for suspects involved in a smash-and-grab at North Hill Centre on Thursday.
Officers were called to the mall in the 1600 block of 14 Avenue N.W. around 4:30 a.m. by security officers who said they saw a white Ford truck slam into the building’s south entrance, leaving behind a gaping hole.
The truck then continued on through the shopping centre.
Police say the intended target was a Paris Jewelers store located just west of the mall’s south entrance. The store owner tells Global News “some items were taken” but their exact value isn’t known.

The vehicle was driven out of the building and left the scene. However, police later located a vehicle of interest and confirmed just after 4 p.m. that it had been stolen.
Investigators are in the process of reviewing CCTV security footage to determine more details.
