EDMONTON — Occupational Health and Safety is investigating after a man died following a fall at a construction site in Lethbridge Wednesday afternoon.
Wayne Wood, a spokesperson with OHS, said a 51-year-old man was “completing welding activities” on the roof of a school when he fell 30 feet. It happened at a yet-to-be-named elementary school in Legacy Ridge.
Wood said the man was pronounced dead in hospital.
Wood said the employer voluntarily stopped work when the incident happened.
The name of the victim has not been released.
