TORONTO – Organizers of a weeklong celebration of Ontario’s burgeoning craft beer industry are hoping to attract visitors from outside the province to partake in the suds-soaked events.
Hosted by 29 breweries, the third annual Ontario Craft Beer Week is planning hundreds of beer-themed activities in pubs, restaurants and other venues across Ontario. The festival launches on Father’s Day, running from June 17 to 23.

“With its rich brewing history and culture, Ontario is becoming an increasingly popular tourism destination for those interested in discovering craft beer, visiting local breweries and experiencing beer cuisine,” said week co-chair Anetta Jewell of Great Lakes Brewery.
This year’s expanded roster of breweries includes Amsterdam and Steam Whistle, both Toronto based. Along with meet-the-brewer sessions and pub crawls, tasting opportunities include matching beer and cheese, beer and chocolate, and “beer and dad.”
Participants may also want to take in the Beach BBQ & Brews Festival, June 15-17, at Toronto’s Woodbine Park with live music and barbecue competitions.
