SASKATOON – There’s less than one month left for students in and around Saskatoon to enjoy summer before heading back to class. To ensure those in need have the same opportunity to unzip a backpack full of new school supplies, the Salvation Army has launched a program.

Once again, the “Back-To-School Backpack Program” is sponsored by Millennium III Group of Companies and a private donor, but donations are still being accepted to fill as many backpacks as possible.

Parents and guardians are asked bring a school supply list, proof of income and valid health card of the student(s) when applying for a backpack. Applications are being accepted until Aug. 18.

Backpacks will be filled by volunteers and be ready for pick-up Aug. 20.
