EDMONTON — Direct Energy and the City of Edmonton have teamed up to bring Movies on the Square back to Churchill Square. The free admission event will happen every Tuesday in August when weather permits.
Guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and snacks to Sir Winston Churchill Square to see free movies outdoors with friends and the whole family. Movies will be shown on a three-storey-high inflatable screen.
This year, Jurassic Park will be shown on August 4, Cinderella will play on August 11, and Big Hero 6 will be on screen August 18. The movie that will be shown on August 25 will be determined later in August.
Organizers suggest people show up early to get the best seats and enjoy other activities.
A few food trucks may be on site during movie nights as well.
The pre-movie entertainment will start at 7 p.m. on movie nights; movies will begin playing at dusk.
Because this is a family event, smoking and the consumption of alcohol will not be tolerated.
Closed captioning will be offered when available.
