Richard Pasch, a senior hurricane specialist at the U.S. National Hurricane Center, says Guillermo is headed in Hawaii’s general direction but it’s too early to tell if there will be any danger to land.

The hurricane is centred about 1,720 miles (2,770 kilometres) east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, and is moving west-northwest near 16 mph (26 kph).
