HALIFAX – Correctional Services Canada has confirmed that a female inmate has died at the Nova Institution for Women in Truro, NS.
According to a press release, 22-year-old Camille Strickland-Murphy was found unresponsive in her cell on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Staff members performed CPR, and emergency services were called, but Strickland-Murphy could not be resuscitated.

Strickland-Murphy had been serving a sentence of 2 years, 8 months for robbery and failure to comply with a probation order.
Correctional Services Canada says the police and a coroner have been notified, and they will review the circumstances of the incident.
This is the second death of an inmate at the Institution this year.
On April, 38-year-old Veronica Park died at a Truro-area hospital. She was serving a three year sentence for robbery and breach of a recognizance.
The cause of her death has not been released.
