While a spokeswoman for the unit is not confirming that Tremblay’s residence is the subject of the search, a Quebec provincial police cruiser was parked in his driveway and investigators were seen removing boxes from the home.

This comes one day after UPAC searched the offices of Morrow Communications, a firm owned by Tremblay’s former campaign manager André Morrow.

The company did some work for Génieau, a consortium that was given the water meter contract in 2007.

The contract was revoked two years later because of administrative irregularities and allegations of collusion and corruption.

It was the largest contract awarded by the city at the time.

No arrests have been made.
