TORONTO — A New York feature on 35 women who have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault was back online Monday afternoon after hackers shut the magazine’s website down.
Someone with the Twitter handle Vikingdom2016 claimed responsibility for the denial-of-service attack but insisted it had nothing to do with the Cosby story.
“I have not even seen the cover,” the hacker, also known as ThreatKing, told Daily Dot.
According to a tweet from Beverly Johnson, one of the Cosby accusers featured in New York, the magazine may have also had its email hacked.
New York acknowledged the problem.
It later posted excerpts and video links from the Cosby feature on Twitter and made the content available on Tumblr and Instagram.
