REGINA – A now-former 15 Wing Moose Jaw civilian employee has been jailed after pleading guilty to attempting to lure a minor.

The 58-year-old man used Facebook photos of his daughter to pose as a 15-year-old girl, and used a work computer to engage in online chats with an underage girl in February of 2013.

He would encourage the girl to engage in sexual activity with another minor.

After an investigation was launched at his workplace, he confessed to his superior and was arrested.

He has been terminated from his job, and his pension and benefits have also been affected.

On July 8 he was sentenced to 4 months in jail with a 12 month probation period.

The terms of the probation mean the man cannot own or access a computer, cell phone or similar devices that can connect to the internet (unless required for employment), and he cannot come in contact with anyone under 16 years of age unless accompanied by someone approved by his probation officer.

A publication ban on his name is in effect to protect the identity of the minors involved.
