UPDATE–July 20, 2015–Search and Rescue crews have suspended their search.
Kelowna RCMP say they are following up on investigative leads.
They have not received any missing persons reports.
KELOWNA–Kelowna RCMP are trying to solve a mystery involving camping equipment apparently abandoned near the shore of Okanagan Lake.
They’re trying to find the owners, to make sure no one is lost in the wilderness.
They received a report of a tent and a cooler left south of Commando Bay between Goode’s Creek and Van Hyce Beach in Okanagan Mountain Park.
A note was left with the items indicating people were hiking to Divide Lake on July 7 and returning on July 13.
If anyone can claim these items, they’re asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP immediately.
Kelowna RCMP and the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue are trying to ensure no one is stranded.
