Watch above: Watercross riders will be racing on the South Saskatchewan River this weekend. Joelle Tomlinson took one for a ride that had an unexpected ending.
SASKATOON – This weekend festival-goers will get to take in speed, action and competition as several of the province’s best watercross competitors take to the South Saskatchewan River for a leg of the Western Canadian Watercross Association’s (WCWA) 2015 tour.
“There will be races running all day Saturday and Sunday, as well as freestyle riders who are doing some really cool manoeuvres in the water,” said WCWA president Steve Chestolowski. For $80, anyone who has a jet ski and wants to race is welcome to participate.
Global’s reporter Joelle Tomlinson got a taste of the watercross action before the event … along with an unexpected ending.
