Surrey RCMP searching for male suspect in alleged sexual assault

RCMP’s Special Victims investigators are asking for the public’s helping following an early morning sexual assault in Surrey on July 7.

A Surrey RCMP was flagged down by a woman who said she had just been sexually assaulted in the 6600-block of 140th Street. The police officer conducted an initial search of the area but did not locate the suspect or any evidence.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian with a large build, bald head, mustache and/or goatee and in his mid-30s. At the time of the alleged assault, he was wearing khaki cargo shorts and a colourful t-shirt.

According to police, the suspect is believed to be deaf and mute and may be targeting people who engage in sexual work. He was driving a four-door brown or beige sedan with a blue and white license plate BWXM606 of unknown origin.
