WINNIPEG — Police say a 45-year-old Winnipeg transit driver is facing criminal charges in a pedestrian crash that killed 72-year-old Gloria Davey.
Davey was hit and killed by a Winnipeg Transit bus after stepping off the curb at a pedestrian crossing at Keewatin St. and Burrows Ave. around 9 a.m. on April 7th

The transit bus was turning south onto Keewatin St. when it hit Davey, causing her to fall under he bus. She died at the scene. Officers said shortly after the accident the pedestrian had the right of way.

Her friend, Verna Robinson, told Global News the woman was on the way to a doctor’s appointment.
The bus driver is facing charges of Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Death. He was released with a promise to appear.
