He lived alone in a RV park in White Rock, but had just moved his belongings to an unknown location. However, his cell phone and bank accounts remain untouched.
Simek was born in the Czech Republic and moved to Canada in 1986.
B.C. Crimestoppers told Global News on Wednesday Simek was found living outside of the Lower Mainland.
He and his family have asked that their privacy be respected.
Simek has now been removed from the Crime Stoppers website and related police databases.
