It was determined their hands had come into contact with hydrogen peroxide that was identified through the use of monitors and testing equipment.

The product had leaked from an unknown package into a mail bin and when mail staff were handling packages from the bin, their hands incurred a while coloured staining.

None of the staff suffered from contacting the hydrogen peroxide and no medical treatment was required after it determined that soap and water clean-up was sufficient for treatment.

The product, which is similar to the texture of Vasoline, can be washed with soap and water.
