MONTREAL – Police discovered the bodies of a 39-year-old man and his 10-month-old boy Sunday evening following what appears to be a murder-suicide in Anjou.
The boy’s mother called police around 7:30 p.m. when she became worried for her son’s safety while he was with his father.
“He was supposed to come back late afternoon and didn’t,” said Anie Lemieux with the Montreal police.
Police found the pair in a shed behind the man’s home at 9:50 p.m. on Vendéens avenue.
“The mother, a 43-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for shock,” said Lemieux.
“According to the information we were able to get, the couple was separating, but still living under the same roof.”
Investigators are still on the scene.
“They’ve been working pretty much all night to figure out what happened,” said Lemieux.
It’s the city’s 14th homicide.
