Alberta RCMP officer calls Canada Day lawnmower theft ‘unpatriotic’

CALGARY – RCMP in Airdrie are scolding the thief who stole a family’s lawnmower while they attended a Canada Day parade.

The victim and his family were watching the city’s annual parade just a short distance from their home when he noticed a man walking down the street with a lawnmower very similar to his own.

Once he got home, the victim discovered someone had entered his backyard and taken his lawnmower.

Cst. Jason Curtis with the Airdrie RCMP calls the act “completely unpatriotic behaviour on our National holiday.”

Description of the suspect is limited; he’s described as a male 25 to 35-years-old.
