WATCH: Calgary Police are investigating a serious assault in the city’s southeast that sent one man to hospital. Paul Haysom reports.
CALGARY – Police say suspects are outstanding after a man was taken to hospital after a serious assault at a southeast Calgary convenience store on Tuesday afternoon.
EMS said the man was rushed to Foothills hospital from a parking lot near the 7/11 convenience store at the corner of 36 Street and Memorial Drive S.E. Officials said the call came in at around 3:30 p.m.
EMS said the man, believed to be in his 20s, was treated for suspected head injuries. He was found in potentially life-threatening condition, and remained in hospital in serious, non-life-threatening condition as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
About an hour after the attack, police surrounded a home in Dover.
Several potential persons of interest were taken in for questioning, but police said they turned out to be friends of the victim who were with him prior to the assault.
Police say up to three people are suspected to have been involved in the assault.
