VERNON – The lights went out for thousands of people after a thunder and windstorm tore through the central and north Okanagan Monday night.

Fallen trees on power lines knocked out electricity to about 2,000 homes in Vernon and Coldstream.
Close to 4,000 residences and businesses in Lake Country were affected.
A handful of BC Hydro customers in Coldstream were still without power late Tuesday morning.
