Thomas Cook passenger plane attempting emergency landing at Belfast airport

BELFAST, Northern Ireland – Belfast International Airport says a passenger plane is making an emergency landing after it developed a technical problem.

The airport said Tuesday that the Thomas Cook Airbus A320 was bound from Belfast to Tenerife.

It had been circling over Northern Ireland to use up fuel and the airport said it would try to land shortly.

The airport says emergency services are in place.

Thomas Cook, one of Britain’s biggest tour operators, confirmed it owns and operates the plane but gave no further details.
