HALIFAX – Never one to stay quiet about things he detests, Adolf Hitler is back and he’s furious about the Halifax transit strike.

What?

Yes, YouTube is rife with “Hitler reacts to…” videos.

The viral sensation uses a scene from the 2004 film Downfall, which recounts the final days of Hitler’s rule.

The movie was nominated for an Oscar, but it became an internet phenomenon for a scene where Hitler, played by Bruno Ganz, learns the Red Army is advancing upon German forces.

The German dialogue in the videos always remains the same, but subtitles are altered to show a vengeful Führer raging about events in news and popular culture, from Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize to Susan Boyle losing Britain’s Got Talent and Rebecca Black’s “Friday“.

Now he’s livid to learn about the Halifax transit strike.

“And you know damn well there are no refunds for bus passes! I just wasted $70,” Hitler screams. “Looks like we’ll have no trip to the Discovery Centre now.”

“This is a dark day for Halifax,” the Führer says dejectedly.

The three-minute fifty-second video posted Feb. 5 is quickly gaining popularity, spreading over Facebook and Twitter.
