Team Lenarduzzi races in Vancouver half-marathon for Alzheimer’s research

More than 6,500 participants took part in the 2015 Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon and 5k Sunday morning.

Vancouver Whitecaps President Bob Lenarduzzi ran in the race as part of a fundraising team founded by his daughter Sunny. Helping combat Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is a cause near and dear to Lenarduzzi’s heart.

“Up until about a year ago when our mom passed away as a result of Alzheimer’s, my wife and I had gone through 10 years of that journey as a result of my father-in-law having the illness,” he said. “We know the devastation that comes with this illness.”

“It’s just a great way for us to raise awareness..and also take away the stigma around the disease of Alzheimer’s, but also to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C., which is such a hugely important cause to our family,” said Sunny Lenarduzzi.
