CALGARY – A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in a southeast parking lot on Thursday.
Police say the driver was approaching a pay booth when he lost control of his bike and fell over, crashing into a concrete barrier.

It happened just before 6 p.m. in a lot on the Stampede grounds.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators don’t believe the rider was wearing a helmet, and say excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.
