CANSO, N.S. – The Stan Rogers Folk Festival in eastern Nova Scotia is gearing up for big comeback next week.
Last year’s Stanfest in Canso was cancelled because of bad weather.
Artistic director Troy Greencorn says organizers feared the festival wouldn’t survive.
However, he says many people from across the country came to the rescue.
He says about 70 per cent of those who bought tickets last year either donated the money – or opted to wait until this year’s three-day festival, which starts July 3rd.
As well, he says other supporters made private donations and 20 other festivals provided financial assistance.
