Ecstasy pills. Global News

Calgary police have charged a man for allegedly selling Ecstasy.

James Wellesley Briscoe is facing seven charges, including two counts of drug trafficking MDMA/ecstasy.

A small quantity of LSD and ecstasy was seized during the arrest, with a street value of approximately $2,000. A knife was also seized.

The 21-year-old from Bragg Creek remains in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012.

Investigators say they are unable to determine if the ecstasy seized contains PMMA. It has been sent to the crime lab for testing.

They are also unable to confirm if the man who is charged or the drugs seized are connected in any way to the seven ecstasy-related deaths in Calgary since July 2011.
