TORONTO – All warnings and watches have ended for the GTA, but the severe weather left a mark on the region.
Global cameraman Jason Scott captured images of lightning, thunder, and heavy downpours rolling into the city.
Dozens of Richmond Hill residents woke up in the dark Tuesday morning.
The power outage wasn’t the only thing people north of the city were dealing with.
GO Transit cancelled the 6:25 a.m. and 6:55 a.m. trains from Richmond Hill to Union Station.
Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins said the tracks were submerged in water.
GO buses replaced the cancelled trains.
GO transit also warned of detour and delays for the subsequent trains.
Flooding has also hampered the morning commute in the city.
Bayview Ave. was closed from Pottery Rd. to King St. and there was some minor flooding at York St. and Lake Shore Blvd West.
Fire crews were called to a home on Newton Dr. In the Bayview Ave. and Steeles Ave E. area.
Pumpers were used to clear some of the water in the flooded basement.
Meanwhile, storm chaser Dave Patrick spotted what appeared to be a possible tornado southeast of Goderich, Ont.
Environment Canada has yet to confirm.
The extreme weather is over and the expected high in Toronto today is 24°C, with a mix of sun and clouds.
