Yorkton man wins $1M with Lotto 6-49 ticket

YORKTON, Sask. – A Saskatchewan resident couldn’t believe how many zeros were on his winning lottery ticket. Veljan Hoxha, of Yorkton, won the guaranteed $1,000,000 prize in the June 10 draw.

He picked up his winning Lotto 6-49 ticket at the Superstore Gas Bar in Yorkton. After discovering the good news, he called his wife who also couldn’t believe it.

“I kept saying to her, ‘I’m telling the truth,” said Hoxha.

“There’s a one and then six zeros.”

Once he’s paid some bills and invested some of the winnings, Hoxha plans on taking a trip to visit family in Greece.
