The officer was on her way to work at the Valleyfield SQ detachment when she lost control of her vehicle on a curve along Highway 132 near Valleyfield, about 30 kilometres west of Montreal Island, and slid into the oncoming lane.

Her car collided head-on with a taxi carrying two people, both of whom suffered minor injuries, according to a spokesperson for the SQ.

The officer was not driving an SQ vehicle at the time.
