NEAR VERNON — A man and his daughter are safe after a fire destroyed a detached two car garage on Sunday night. They were the only two home at the time and were not injured by the blaze.
BX-Swan Lake Fire Chief Bill Wacey says two vehicles and a travel trailer were also destroyed in the fire on Old Kamloops Road by the north end of Swan Lake

Fire crews were called to the home around 9:45 p.m. Due to the blaze, Wacey says there is currently no power at the residence but the home was not damaged and no one was injured in the incident.
The investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing; Wacey says investigators do not believe it’s suspicious.
