A group of Vancouverites want to use the Burrard Street Bridge to show the world they live in an inclusive city as they celebrate Pride week in July.

Their plan is to cover a long stretch of the bridge with a rainbow flag signed by thousands of residents who support the local LGBTQ community.

The petition in support of the plan has only been signed by 120 people – as of 2:20 p.m. on Monday – but is well on its way to reaching its goal of 200 signatories. The goal was changed from 100 to 200 signatories on Monday afternoon.

“Vancouver is an inclusive city, let’s show the world,” the petition reads. “We’re going to transform the Burrard Bridge into a symbol of acceptance and inclusion. This is your opportunity to show your love and support for your city, and the LGBTQ community.
