Winnipeg Police hope a new set of graphic commercials will drive home the message to “Just Slow Down”. The new commercials include shots of blood and full speed car accidents.
The latest commercial is part of phase four of the police service’s “Just Slow Down” campaign.

This year’s goal is to increase awareness on the dangers of speeding and running red lights.
Two different 30 second ads will start running on TV Monday with a longer webisode available online.
Officers say last year’s commercial was a huge success with more than 82,000 YouTube hits.
“Certainly these types of videos really pull at your heart strings. We know the negative impact of these situations have had on so many members of the public. We want to make every effort to get this messaging out and to generate conversations,” Jason Michalyshen, Winnipeg Police.
