One man dead following early morning crash near Whitecourt

A Saskatoon man has died following a crash about 35 kilometers west of Whitecourt.

Whitecourt RCMP, Fire and EMS were called to the scene around 5am Thursday. The man was taken to hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival.  

The 24 year old was travelling east on Highway 43 when his pick-up truck flipped and rolled several times into the ditch, RCMP say.

Officers say he was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the truck.

No other vehicles were involved and the man was the only person in his truck at the time.

His name has not been released however, his family has been notified.

Whitecourt RCMP are investigating.
