Manitoba children badly burned in Nelson House shed fire

WINNIPEG – A storage shed fire in Nelson House, Man., burned four children aged three to six on the weekend.

Two six-year-old girls, a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy were in the shed when it caught fire at about 3 p.m. Saturday. All three girls were taken to Winnipeg for treatment; one of the six-year-olds is still in serious condition.

The boy was treated at the Nelson House nursing station and released.

The Office of the Fire Commission and RCMP are investigating the fire.

Nelson House is about 670 kilometres north of Winnipeg on Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation.
